4 Steps For Exiting Your Job Gracefully

In December 2022, around 4.1 million people—or 2.6% of the workforce—quit their jobs. I was one of them. If you’re preparing to leave your current position, be sure to do so with respect and grace. How you leave impacts your coworkers, any chances of returning to the organization, your ability to get a positive reference and your professional relationships.

Exit interviews are a great place to share your wisdom about what worked well and to identify opportunities for improvement. Stick to the facts. If you haven’t brought up an issue in the past, it’s unfair to bring it up in the exit interview.
